  • 1 cup sour cream full-fat
  • 1 bag (30 oz) frozen shredded hash browns thawed

  • Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it into crumbles. Cook until no longer pink, about 5–7 minutes, then drain excess fat.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup and sour cream until smooth and well combined.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 baking dish. Layer half the hash browns, half the cooked beef, half the soup mixture, and half the cheese. Repeat layers.
  • Bake for 45–50 minutes until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese on top is golden brown.
  • Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow the layers to set.
